While I was booking my photographer (see her link on the right hand links section) for a small photo shoot for wedding one, an idea came to me. She writes her own blog and recently did a guest posting for one of her blogging friends. I wondered if she would be interested in doing something similar on my blog. She was kind enough to say yes which got me to thinking even more. What kind of content would a genetic female write for a blog about a boy who wants to be the bride in a wedding. Certainly, I could just let her chose a topic of her own and I may just end up doing that. But as I though more about it, I really have a growing pool of women who are helping me with this project. Maybe they would be willing to add their opinions or perspectives as well.
At this point I can come up with at least six women who are part of the wedding. My photographer, my makeup artist, my hair stylist, my nail tech, my wedding dress designer, my bridesmaid and my groom. Some of these haven't officially been booked. Only one has even expressed any interest in blogging. But I hope to try and get some more interest from them in expressing their opinions on my wedding.
For some it may be the most normal thing in the world, for others it could be a chance to be part of a unique experience, or maybe its just another job. For at least one, my groom, its allowing me to experience something that I had only thought of as a dream. But the truth of the matter is this is not your typical wedding.
As for the format of the female perspective posts, I have several options. I could simply ask each person involved if they want to write something and let them write as they see fit. I could ask them to try to write about a certain topic. Maybe I could do interviews with a common set of questions for them to answer. If so, what would those questions be? Thats where I am hoping to get some input. What is it that my readers would be interested in? Please feel free to e-mail or post comments on what you would like to know from a true females perspective.
As for me I am coming up with a few different questions. Such as: Have you discussed this wedding with anyone else and what was their reaction? I certainly don't mind if they have discussed the wedding with other people and I would actually be interested in hearing someone's opinion who is once removed from the actual wedding.
Based on the fact that they are willing to work with me, these women don't seem have a negative opinion about crossdressers. I have had several vendors comment that they would not feel comfortable working with me on my wedding and I don't fault them for that. I would rather have someone who is OK with me being a bride than having both of us be uncomfortable.
So please send along your suggestions and I will see if we can get some real input from some of the girls. I guarantee I won't be asking them anything distasteful so lets keep the questions respectful please.
I think what you are doing is so wonderful! I have dream ever since I was a young sissy to be a bride and wouldn't actually dress up in my mom's wedding gown. Women are never more beautiful than when they are a bride and I am always so envious when I see one!
