First thing on my list are the wedding rings. In May, when my girlfriend and I get married for the first time, we will have a ring exchange. I have picked out a nice plain silver band that I will be happy wearing until death do us part. In lieu of an engagement ring, my girlfriend has chosen to wear a very nice wedding band that is silver filigree with a few stones set to the ring. This is all well and good for our first wedding but I want something pretty for my hand during our second wedding.Since I don't plan on wearing a women's band or engagement ring during the day to day part of my life I think I can get away with something on the lower end. I don't need diamonds, I think faux diamonds will be fine. I am thinking of something like the set in the picture. I can wear just the engagement ring during the bachelorette party and have a nice band for the wedding ceremony. I also plan on getting a smaller plain band for my fiance so we can exchange rings properly as any normal female-husband and male-bride should do.
I have looked at a few necklace and earring sets but haven't decided on anything just yet. Initially I had thought I might get my ears pierced. After doing a little research, I think the four week healing time is more that I want to put into it. I'm just not a earring kind of guy when I am in boy mode so I don't think its worth it. I'm sure I will be able to work out some sort of clip on earring when push comes to shove.
As far as a necklace goes I have been thinking of something bold but not gaudy. I would like to add some color too. If I go with faux diamonds for a ring and crystals in the watch I have listed below, I think I have a sparkly theme going. What I would like to do is find something sparkly with some faux sapphires or garnets in it for some color. I am planning on getting colored contacts for the ceremony to make my eyes pop. I could go with either blue or green since my eyes are hazelish. I think this might be a fun.
As for other jewelry I have always wanted a nice ladies watch. As noted above, the problem is my largish wrists make buying a watch, or bracelet for that matter, quite difficult. I have spent a little time on the Internet trying to figure out if its possible to buy additional links for a watch and have them installed. I think it should be pretty easy, there are plenty of articles about removing links, I just want to have some added so it fits me well. I think I have found a nice watch that has some width to it so it doesn't look too tiny on me. I can get a pretty good deal on it too, I know a place...Anyways I can get it at 54% off MSRP. Its still over $100 but a girl can't have enough nice jewelry, and this is a special occasion. I guess I'll have to get all dolled up more often so I can wear it more.So those are my plans are as far as jewelry goes. I think I am going to order the watch sooner than later just so I can work through the details of adding links. I will keep Twitter appraised of my purchases and progress.
I also would like to send out a thanks to the CD Gossip blog who mentioned my He Is the Bride site. I have had so many people link from there I just had to say thanks and return the favor.
